Morphor - Plectrum Analogue BBD Pluck
- Order number: 230313
- Depth: 40
The Morphor Plectrum is the successor of the AP-1. It is a fully analogue Karplus-Strong sound source based on a bucket brigade delay (BBD).
Plectrum is a bit slimmer than AP-1. 8HP instead of 10HP. The Feedback is now CV-controllable. The rest stays the same:
The circuit produces plucked string-like sounds through very short delay times. By sending it a trigger the noise pulse generator will produce a sound that is then fed into the BBD that is controlled by an internal VCO. The generated signal is then processed by a filter and can be send back in variable amounts to the BBD via a feedback circuit.
You get controls for the tuning, feedback and the color filter. The circuit will track 1v/oct and there is an additional CV input with attenuator for frequency modulation. The trigger input reacts differently with variable trigger lengths, so there is room for experimentation here. The Feedback will act like a decay-parameter and is now CV-controllable.
For more experimentation you can insert external signal processing into the circuit via the Karplus Strong Loop Switch. This insert will bypass the internal filter, so you can explore other filter types or whatever you come up with. Plectrum is a compact sound source which generates signals resembling an acoustic guitar or electronic percussion or unusual bass sounds.
