Ubique Is Yet Another Example From Manifold Research Centre That We’ve Only Just Begun to Explore the Possibilities of Sound Mangling!
The Ubique module was designed by Manifold Research Centre in collaboration with Heretic Machines. It’s what they call a feedback-phase-network. In simple terms, a combination of a very short bucket brigade delay and a 10-stage transistor ladder phaser. Both sections can be used independently, each with their own audio input and output. There are plenty of knobs and CV inputs to shape the sound, and the results speak for themselves. The demo video really showcases the possibilities.
But the real magic lies in the fact that both sections are linked via a feedback path. That means the output of the BBD flanger feeds into the input of the phaser, whose output then loops back into the flanger and so on. Controlled via a feedback fader and individual feedback pots, this creates an incredible range of noise, drones, percussive textures, effects, and other sonic phenomena that defy description.
Whether you’re after a self-oscillating monster, drum seasoning, or ambient dust, Ubique is a true wildcard module!
Features:
- 2 sections: BBD flanger and 10-stage transistor ladder phaser
- Delay time: 5–250 ms
- Feedback path between sections
- Individual inputs and outputs
- CV for frequency and Q (both sides)
- Dry/wet mix (flanger only)
- Invert switch (phaser only)
