Make Noise GTE — Gestural Time Extractor. Turns any Motion of your CV-Signals Into Rhythm, Pulses and Gates!
The Make Noise GTE is an analog pulse extractor and Channel Index Translator. Give it any moving voltage (almost any signal that is) at the Span input and it turns that motion into patchable timing information: up to eight individual channel pulses, a pulse stream that follows the speed of the signal, and separate odd/even gate outputs. In other words, it listens to how a signal moves and converts that behavior into rhythm, structure and events.
That is a very Make Noise way of handling time. The Space control sets how closely the internal channels sit together, so the module can respond in a broad, relaxed way or become much more twitchy and sensitive. Patch a clock into it and channel changes are held back until an incoming trigger or gate arrives, which makes it much easier to lock the whole thing to an existing patch. With all controls set to starter min-max positions, the GTE also works as a Channel Index Translator for PoliMATHS and other N.U.S.S. modules that generate Channel Index signals, allowing you to derive individual gates from indexed channel activity.
The result is a compact timing tool that can extract rhythm from gestures, functions, sequences or other wandering voltages. A small module with a curious view of time, and a natural fit for the wider Make Noise N.U.S.S. ecosystem.
