FM Radius by Koma Elektronik is a tiny radio for the nifty 1U format. Use it as an unusual oscillator, a source of random samples or to listen in on the local news in the morning. What you won’t find on your usual general purpose radio at home however is a Chaos CV Input. This input allows you to modulate the FM-band search frequency and thereby automate the scanning process. Naturally you can set a fix frequency with the manual control as well. It’s a tiny radio, how can you not love that?
Founded by Wouter Jaspers and Christian Zollner, Koma have been no strangers in the synth-scene in Berlin. If the SVF201 filter has been glowing on many racks already, their release of the Field Kit (and Field Kit FX) have catapulted them into well-deserved recognition.
