Used as a crossfader, Trouser Press provides no additional gain and lowers the amplitude by 3 dB in the center position. When used as a VCA, the output signal can reach +20 dB. The Lin/Log switch is active in both modes and is used to change the characteristic curve of the VCA or crossfader. The CV input is set in the crossfader mode so that at -5 volts the signal from the left input is routed to the output and at 5 volts, the signal from the right input is routed to the output. This setting can be changed to 0 V (left signal) 5 V (right signal) by means of a jumper on the board.
