Eight-channel CV-to-MIDI and CV-to-I2C converter
CVM-8’s eight inputs are routed to two independent MIDI ports on the back that can be used with any MIDI device via 5-pin DIN or TRS 3.5mm jacks via the Expert Sleepers MIDI breakout (or by soldering your own cable or breakout).
The main use of CVM-8 is the direct connection to compatible Expert Sleepers modules and to provide additional CV to MIDI/I2C functionality for these.. Compatible Expert Sleepers modules are the disting mk4, FH-2, and ES-9 (MIDI only), and the disting EX (MIDI and I2C).
Since the CVM-8 also transmits on the Select Bus, no additional cabling is required to drive the disting EX, for example. As a bonus the module offers I2C-to-MIDI functionality. On the rear side the module is configurable via dip switches, while deeper editing and firmware updates are possible via a browser based tool.
