DF Audio - Minibay S24

MINIBAY S24 is a compact desktop patchbay that puts 24 full-size TRS connections on the back and mirrors them as 3.5mm TRS patch points on top. Connect your synths, effects, mixer and interface once, then reroute everything from the top panel instead of reaching behind your gear whenever you fancy putting a different pedal after the drum machine. Because every connection is TRS, a single patch cable can carry a stereo signal, balanced mono or unbalanced mono. CV and MIDI can pass through as well.

The 24 points are arranged as twelve A/B pairs, each with its own switch for half-normalling. Engage it and the upper point feeds the lower one internally, so your usual signal path works without a patch cable. Plugging into the lower point breaks that connection, while patching from the upper point lets you take a copy of the signal elsewhere without interrupting the original route. It sounds slightly more complicated in words than it is in practice, and DF Audio’s video below explains the different connection options very clearly with visual examples. It needs no power supply, no software and no elaborate setup, just a really neat solution for anyone who is tired of tracing cables around the back of their desk.
