Get your paws on Ilse by Chair Audio, the DIY synthesizer voice kit that will have you up and meowing in no time.
Ilse is a minimal but functional 10 HP synthesizer voice. With only 2 opamps and 7 transistors, it's great for those new to Eurorack or looking for an affordable and easy-to-assemble DIY project with a low part count.
Fully open source with schematics available online, Ilse is inspired by Syntherjack's Totoro synthesizer and shares its filter design. It features two sawtooth oscillators, a resonant low-pass filter, and a triangle LFO, among others, offering a wide range of sounds from a modest setup. Did we mention that you can also run it standalone with two 9V batteries? It's also great for acid sounds!
The module itself is named after a cat from a historic villa in Weimar, Germany. Ilse's design commemorates the villa's vibrant art community and music scene, with cat-themed graphics that evoke its acid-sounding capabilities - look at those crazy eyes!
One final note: The oscillators are not temperature compensated, so changes in room temperature will affect tuning. Assembly instructions are readily available on the project's forum, making for an engaging build experience!
