Module 285e provides frequency shifting and ring modulation or amplitude modulation as two independent function blocks. It is rather unusual that the Frequency Shifter can not only be used with an internal reference oscillator, but also with an external signal source. Conversely, it is convenient that the Ringmodulator is also capable of ring modulation with a single input signal, thanks to the optional internal oscillator. It can also be infinitely adjusted from "no" modulation to amplitude modulation to ring modulation.
The Frequency Shifter allows a signal to be simultaneously shifted up and down by an adjustable frequency and output to separate outputs. The frequency can either be set via a CV- and FM-modulatable internal reference oscillator, or via an external signal source. The Ringmodulator also offers a CV- and FM-modulatable internal oscillator if required. In addition to a separate ring modulation output, there is another output that outputs a cross-fadable mix of input signal and ring modulation.
In combination with the Preset Manager of the 206e and 225e modules, all parameters can be stored and recalled.
