Mixers, LPGs + VCAs

A VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier) is an essential module for controlling the intensity of both audio and CV signals. Typically, a VCA is placed at the end of the signal path to shape the volume envelope of a sound. However, its applications go far beyond this: whether for tremolo effects or precise control of CV signals, such as adjusting the modulation depth of an LFO to a filter, VCAs are incredibly versatile. This is also where the system interface can be found, which can display sounds spatially in a unique way. Lopass Gates are key to the signature Buchla sound, as they not only alter the signal intensity but also shape the timbre. Essentially, they function as a combination of a VCA and a filter, both driven by the same modulation source.
