Fractalist is a specialised module for generating waveforms and rhythms based on fractals – bringing an almost forgotten synthesis method back into the present.
At its heart lies a CORE, which replicates and evolves with every ITERation. With each step, the structure grows – and with it, the sonic complexity. What begins as a simple starting point quickly unfolds into dense, vibrant textures. WARP allows you to shape the result: subtly for delicate sonic movements, or drastically for organic modulations and spectral shifts. In higher frequency ranges, the behaviour becomes unpredictable – particularly with the ALIAS function activated, which deliberately introduces digital artefacts and controlled chaos. Without aliasing, the sound remains clear and defined. In the lower frequency range, Fractalist reveals a different side: here, rhythmic structures, fragile patterns and idiosyncratic grooves emerge. Very exciting! With BOOST, the signal can be saturated and thickened, ranging from a subtle colouration to an aggressive punch.
The frequency control allows for rapid jumps in octaves or semitones, complemented by fine-tuning for precise pitch adjustment. FM and SYNC inputs expand the system to include classic modulation options. An integrated sine-wave LFO invites self-patching – for autonomous movements and constantly evolving sound patterns.
