Befaco have developed Percall, a highly flexible combination of VCAs and decay envelopes.
Percall is a master of percussion. The module consists of four VCAs, which are opened via internal decay envelopes. You can use anything as source material to create characterful and versatile rhythms. Noise, radio static, extreme wavetables, and on and on.
Each channel has an audio input, an input for triggers, and its own volume pot. This pot controls the amplitude after the VCA, allowing you to add dynamics to your sounds. Furthermore, each channel has a fader for the decay time and channels 2 and 4 have a choke switch. This allows you to suppress the sounds from these channels from the channels 1 and 3 - very much in the spirit of old drum machines. Finally, there is a Strength input that accepts bipolar control voltages. It controls the amplitude of all channels, which in combination with the CV inputs for the decay time leads to a lot of variety. The envelopes are output at individual outputs to feed the other parameters in your system. There are individual outputs and a mix output.
