ALM Busy Circuits Pip Filter – Pingable 2-Pole Low-Pass and VCA.
The Pip Filter from ALM packs a resonant 2-pole low-pass filter and VCA into a slim package. It's got a trigger input that lets you ping the filter for percussive plucked sounds – feed it triggers or gates to create everything from subtle plucks to more aggressive percussive hits depending on your resonance and frequency settings.
Its filter cutoff responds to manual control plus two CV inputs – one with an attenuverter for more precise modulation depth, the other offering rough V/Oct tracking. Push the resonance and it'll self-oscillate, turning the filter into a playable sound source. The built-in VCA (normalled open) provides independent amplitude control. Patch an oscillator through it for traditional filtering, trigger it solo for instant percussion, or combine both for rhythmic filter sequences. Small footprint, yet surprisingly versatile.
Features:
- Compact filter and VCA in 4HP
- Dual pole 12dB/Oct Low pass filter with resonance
- Two frequency CV inputs, one with attenuversion and other with rough V/Oct tracking
- Manual resonance control going into self oscillation
- Trigger input to 'ping' the filter
- Normalled VCA input for optional amplitude control
- Skiff friendly with reverse power protection
