Alfa Delta V.O.F. - Metamorf

The Metamorf is a fascinating filter system from Alfa Delta. It's designed around six highly precise digital state-variable filters. Each filter can be tuned to exact frequency ratios or fixed values down to a single cent. This makes harmonic relationships between filters possible that would be nearly impossible with traditional analog designs.

The modulation system is another really interesting aspect of this module. Anything can modulate anything else - CV inputs, filter outputs, mixers, MIDI messages. Want one filter to frequency-modulate another? Easy. Need to create complex amplitude modulation effects? No problem. The module also handles through-zero linear FM for instances when you want to reach those metallic, bell-like timbres.

You control the interface through three encoder knobs, six buttons and an OLED display. Despite its complexity, you won't find yourself lost in its menus. The interface is remarkably direct for such a deep module. The two built-in six-channel mixers are also really useful - through internal routing they let you create complex signal paths without the need for other external modules.

Metamorf opens doors to filtering techniques that simply weren't practical in the analog realm.
