Sawtooth Stack - The first complete Eurorack voice from Verbos Electronics can be played via MIDI and, with the appropriate case, also as a standalone unit!
Sawtooth Stack is inspired by the classic West Coast synthesis approach and is based on the versatile Foundation Oscillator from Verbos. Here, five oscillators from the popular Verbos oscillator are used. Controls like Timbre and Richness are included to shape the harmonic content and thus the sound character. The Timbre control allows you to fade from a sine wave to a sawtooth wave. With the Spread function, which can be controlled via MIDI and CV, you can detune the five oscillators and distribute them across the stereo field for incredibly wide and expansive sounds. The two AD envelopes can be flexibly patched to any desired parameter. Conveniently, they are also normalized to the parameters of Richness and Amplitude. Additionally, the envelopes can be cycled and generate frequencies up to 500 Hz.
All parameters can be controlled via MIDI CC, making it excellent for sequencing via DAW or other external sequencers. Another useful feature is the Auto-Tune function.
Overall, Sawtooth Stack offers an excellent introduction to the sonic worlds of Verbos. It is also perfect for live performances. The Auto-Tune function ensures everything sounds as it should, and the ability to prepare extensive modulations via MIDI CC and then use them on stage is very practical.
The module can be used as a standalone unit with the Verbos Blackbox or as a standard Eurorack module.

Mark Verbos started playing electronic music instruments at the early age of 13. He had the chance to learn electronics under the auspices of none other than Grant Richter and became the reference contact person for repairs of vintage Buchla systems. Years later, he started started creating the instruments he uses himself on stage under Verbos Electronics and since 2017 moved operations from NYC to Berlin.
