The 292t is based on the legendary 200 series module from Buchla. The outstanding reputation of the module is mainly due to its exceptionally good results in terms of dynamic sound shaping for percussive applications. In short, it sounds great and is part of synthesizer history - keyword Buchla Bongos.
The first iteration of the 292t was not allowed to be sold in the EU because of the vactrols used. Now there is a special version of the Quad Lopass Gate! The 292t has the unmistakable, organic sound character that we expect from an excellent lowpass gate. As with all modules from the collaboration between Buchla and Tiptop Audio, the 292t is very close to the original circuit. We get four channels that are switchable between the lo-pass filter setting, the gate setting (linear VCA) and a combo of both - basically the low-pass gate setting. Of course, there are also four audio inputs and outputs as well as four CV inputs. These control the amplitude, the cut-off frequency of the filter or both in combo mode. There is also a mix output, which is configured as a 4-to-1 mixer output.
Now look at the name again - that's a Buchla lowpass gate. Now finally available for Eurorack, thanks to the collaboration with Tiptop Audio. Exciting times!
