SoundForce - uDCO
- Order number: 220302
- Depth: 38
The SoundForce uDCO is based on the oscillators of the Roland Juno 60/106 series and is a more compact alternative to the SoundForce DCO.
What is a DCO?
A DCO is a digitally controlled analog oscillator. Unlike fully analog oscillators, a DCO uses a microcomputer to reset the waveform to its phase beginning, which results in increased tuning stability.
Instead of faders, the small version of the Juno 60/106-DCO provides rotary potentiometers to control functions and the five sound sources/waveforms (Saw Pulse, SUb 1, Sub 2, Noise) individually. All signals can be selected individually or combined via the mix output. The PWM potentiometer, serves as manual PWM control or attenuator for the PWM-CV, if a cable is plugged, also coarse/ffine tuning controls are available. The new MIDI input on the front panel can be used to connect the uDCO to a MIDI interface or another MIDI out source (no MIDI USB). In addition, there's FM (without attenuation) and the GATE/Sync input. The latter allows hard sync with another oscillator or acts as gate output (function selectable on rear panel).

uDCO @SoundForce
Starting out with software-controllers, the SoundForce path led back to hardware. Since 2017 the Dutchmen are spot on when it comes to designing Eurorack modules that always show a strong passion for legendary synthesizer-designs.
