The Serial Programmer is needed to play the new firmware onto the Shakmat Bard Quartet

To communicate with the Bard Quartet Expand, the Bard Quartet needs a new firmware (v1.1). A Bard Quartet with firmware 1.0 can be updated to 1.1 with this serial programmer. To reduce the risk of incorrect connections and thus potential support problems, Shakmat's own programmer is recommended. It comes with a detailed user manual. Of course, any commercially available programmer can be used.

The Bard Quartet with batch number A12 or higher are shipped with this new firmware.
