Shakmat Ballista Blast Expander — Onboard LFO & Envelope for Your Ballista, Stored with Your Presets
The Ballista Blast Expander is a dedicated modulation source for Shakmat's hybrid synth voice. It provides an LFO or envelope — switchable between the two — that can be routed to six destinations on the Ballista Blast, including harmonics, emphasis, pitch, amplitude, and a freely assignable slot. That assignable destination is worth highlighting: it lets you modulate the Ballista's own integrated envelope or even control parameters of a second expander. And yes, you can run two of these per Ballista Blast, one on each expander port.
The LFO side covers skewed ramps, morphable waveforms, sample-and-hold random, and 8-step sequences. Envelopes come in AR, AD, and ASR flavors with linear or exponential curves. Three CV inputs plus a clock/trigger jack keep everything open to external control. The key detail here is that all modulation settings — destinations, depths, shapes — are saved alongside your Ballista Blast presets. So when you recall a sound, the modulation comes back with it.
This is a nice and compact way to bring life to your patches without reaching for any other external modulators.
