Serge Modular - Paperface 50 Helios Voice Panel

To celebrate Serge's 50th anniversary, the Paperface panels are now also available separately. The Helios Voice Panel is the powerful Paperface sound generator.

The circuits/modules found in the Helios Panel were first introduced in 1972/73. For its 50th anniversary, the Paperface series returns in a collaboration between Random*Source and Serge Tcherepnin. Old sound with new technology.
The Paperface series celebrates the diversity of simplicity. Simple building blocks that, in combination and thanks to your creativity, produce an almost infinite range of sounds. Connect several Paperface panels and expand these possibilities immensely!

The Helios voice comes equipped with two oscillators for a brute and raw sound à la Serge. The oscillators are now significantly more tuning stable (6+ octaves) and have improved temperature compensation. The voltage-controlled waveshapers allow exciting variations of the overtones and the Oscillator+ even has a pulse output. The VCOs now also have very reliable V/oct inputs, with two additional FM inputs.
The Smooth & Stepped Generator (SSG) is Serge's versatile modulation source. The Smooth section adds slew to your input signals for envelopes and delays. Patch the cycle output into the input and get a repeating triangle wave! The stepped generator acts like a sample & hold stage. When a pulse is applied to the sample input in cycle mode, complex stepped waveforms are generated. You also get a wonderful sounding noise source, which you can also send to the sample input of the stepped generator.
The CV processor (CV-Pro) comes in a double format. Here you can edit, attenuate, invert or combine all possible control voltages.

The Triple Wave Shaper is a Serge classic and bends your waves into new shapes. It is well suited for the oscillators, but can also be used very well in combination with acoustic instruments. Light or multi-layered changes to the harmonics are no problem thanks to the CV inputs. You can then soften all of this in the 1973 filter section. There are outputs for lowpass, bandpass and highpass filters. Great resonance and plenty of CV inputs let you intervene deeply in your sound.

Finally, you can listen to the sound you have created at the balanced output. A great instrument that makes a great combination with its siblings.

This Paperface panel comes installed in a boat housing. The suitable power supply unit must be obtained separately.
