The Gravedad by Olivella Modular is somehow a Dual Complex Oscillator, but also something refreshingly different.
Gravedad is an analog VCO with a stereo sub-oscillator. The triangle core of Gravedad gives you outputs for sine wave, sawtooth wave and pulse wave and the two MASS outputs output the sub-oscillator. The latter has a waveshaper function with CV control. There is also a voltage-controllable octave fader and an FM input with FM index. This FM input can switch between DC-coupled Thru-Zero-FM, AC-coupled Thru-Zero-FM and linear FM.
Gravedad's similarity to a Complex Oscillator comes from the normalization of the sub-oscillator to this FM input. The sub-oscillator can either be synced to the main oscillator via a switch or run freely. The combination of waveshaping, the three different FM types and the FM index, which is controllable by a potentiometer or CV, quickly leads to complex sounds. The MASS oscillator also has a trigger input that breaks all normalizations. This allows you to quickly create complicated modulations and timbre changes. MASS can thus also act as an attack envelope.
Features:
- Very tuning stable VCO with sine, sawtooth and pulse
- Voltage-controllable octave slider (5 octaves)
- MASS stereo sub-oscillator with waveshaping and panning (free-running, or synced to the main VCO)
- MASS is normalized to the LIN-FM input with selectable DC-coupled TZFM, AC-coupled TZFM and linear FM
- FM index with potentiometer and CV input
- Hard-Sync
- M TRIG breaks the internal normalizations of the MASS VCO
