Neumann KH 120 II — Second-Gen KH 120, now with DSP!
The original KH 120 (released in 2010) became a common sight in studios because it simply translates well. The KH 120 II keeps that same approach — controlled response, low distortion, and a neutral voicing — but also adds internal DSP. That DSP handles the crossover and enables room alignment via Neumann’s MA 1 system if you want to calibrate the monitors to your space.
Inside, a 5.25" woofer and 1" tweeter are driven by dedicated amps (145W LF / 100W HF) in a magnetically shielded aluminum cabinet with front bass reflex ports. The stated response reaches down to 44Hz (±3dB), which is impressive for the size, and the MMD waveguide helps keep the stereo image stable across a usable listening window — especially at typical nearfield distances around 1–2 meters. Connectivity covers analog XLR and S/PDIF; if you need network audio, there’s also an AES67 variant.
All in all, the KH 120 II offers a solid choice for nearfield mixing, editing, and general studio work where you want consistent translation.
