LPZW.Modules Elster — Compact Cymbal Station with Classic 909 DNA
The LPZW.Modules Elster brings the unmistakable shimmer of TR-909 cymbals to your Eurorack system. Built around authentic 909 sound ROMs and analog circuitry, this module delivers three distinct cymbal voices: Ride, Crash, and Hi-hats, switchable via a simple front-panel control. It also comes with a nice hi-hat feature — when in hi-hat mode, the main trigger fires closed hats while the reverse input triggers open hats, but, with a single button press you can swap these assignments for instant pattern variations.
Beyond the basic 909 sounds, Elster offers several other sound-shaping capabilities. The pitch control includes both a normal (like the OG 909) and extended range, which lets you venture into more.. eh, extended/experiemental territories. There's a switch for reverse playback as well, where the decay slider then controls both the starting point and attack length (where the sample always ends at the initial transient). The included "Mojo" switch addresses a common Eurorack mixing challenge by adding spectral coloration that helps cymbals sit better in the mix without external EQ.
For anyone seeking authentic 909 cymbal tones with modern modular control, Elster delivers classic sounds with some thoughtful enhancements that extend well beyond simple sample playback.
