Kaona Mûmack is a temperature-stabilized analog VCO with built-in peak compressor, LFO and three sound shapers, that invite you to experiment.
Mûmack is based on a temperature-stabilized analog source capable of generating three classic waveforms (triangle, sawtooth, square). The basic signal can be modified in a wide variety of ways. Each shaping section has a VCA and all of three of them can be mixed and sent through a final VCA.
The peak compressor can change the signal by turning it in the desired direction. While in the center position (12 o'clock) there is no sound change, clockwise positive compression is achieved, counterclockwise negative compression. The compressor includes an LFO, which is modifiable in tempo and amplitude, and a CV input with attenuator. From the compressor the signal goes to the shaper section (Usual, Mûm and Hack).
The Usual section allows free mixing of the three waveforms with PWM for the square wave, where the upstream compressor can provide complex waveforms oscillating in time with the LFO or the CV input signal, depending on the setting. The waveform knob allows stepless control of the Mûm waveform from an attenuated to a pronounced triangle, which then moves on to sine wave and pulse wave. A vibrato adjustable in tempo and amplitude is possible via the LFO.
The Mûm signal finally moves to Hack. This is the extreme of the three fellows - a wavefolder plus compressor. Depending on the settings of the peak compressor and the individual LFOs, organic, complex and constantly changing waveforms are created. The VCA section has individual potentiometers for Usual, Mûm and Hack, which serve as attenuators / level controls.
All three signals are mixed at the "All" output, whose volume is adjustable and can be controlled via the CV input (plus attenuator). At high values the signal is tonally colored by distortion. At low values, the exponential circuitry allows for more subtle adjustments.
