The Haken Audio Continuum Mini is a synthesizer that is second to none in terms of expressiveness.
This model 2022 is equipped with an all-black playing surface.
The ContinuuMini has been designed to be a portable and more affordable version of Haken Audio's larger Continuum Fingerboards. The ContinuuMini is fun to play, has the same sound engine as the larger Continuums, and delivers its own unique and rewarding musical performance experience.
The Continuum Mini shares some features with the Continuum Fingerboard:
Temporal Accuracy: 700µSec
Pressure Sensitivity: Hall-effect sensors
Pitch Sensitivity: Can roll fingers for super-fine pitch adjustments
EaganMatrix Synthesis: Tight timbre feedback loop
The ContinuuMini's polyphony and computation power are the same as a L2x Continuum. Thereby the ContinuuMini provides duotactic play, with a pitch reference display for each note. Standalone preset selection and parameter modification are possible via a 4-button menu interface, with operating instructions added at the bottom of each unit. When connected to a computer, the Continuum Editor and EaganMatrix editing are supported.
The ContinuuMini is USB-powered (rated at 500mA, actual use ±210mA)

Munich-born Lippold Haken started working on the Continuum Fingerboard in the early 1980s as he obtained his Ph.D. in Electric Engineering at University of Illinois. A decade later he teamed up with Edmund Eagan to develop built-in sounds that are specifically designed for the Continuum’s three-dimensional playing surface.
