The SH5-VCF r2 from G-Storm Electro is an excellent Eurorack adaptation of the legendary Roland SH-5 Dual Filter.
Featuring discrete components and high-quality operational amplifiers, the module brings the unique sonic character of the original to your modular system, without any filter chips. At its heart is the characteristic open-collector diode ladder circuit, as used in the Roland SH-1000 and the early System 100.
The module offers two independent filters: a VCF with selectable configuration (High Pass, Low Pass, or Band Pass) and a dedicated BPF (Band Pass Filter) with its own circuitry. The flexible signal routing and the two CV inputs for the VCF’s cutoff frequency enable creative modulations and the typically rich, resonant sound.
