Cunsa is a quadruple (!) and highly responsive multimode filter from Frap Tools that can also be used as saturator, mixer, and oscillator...times four!
The Cunsa module is made of four resonant multimode filters. Frap Tools additionally designed a custom saturation and added it to the circuit. There are lots of semi-normalizations on the module so you can easily perform complex sound design tasks with only a few input signals.
The state-variable filters offering lowpass, bandpass and highpass outputs with a 12 dB/oct slope can be used independently, linked and mixed. The lowpass output can additionally be switched to 24 dB/oct.
The Character circuit allows the module to be used for a vast amount of tone shaping. It controls the amount of soft clipping when overloading the filter. High clipping guarantees a controlled behavior with fat tone and pure resonance, while low or no clipping lets the signal saturate the filter stages and make it scream.
While you can use the four filters independently or arranged in groups though normalled inputs and grouped outputs, mono, stereo, or quadrophonic audio is at your fingertips.
The four great sounding filters take up most of the space on the panel, but there is much more that makes this module unique. The saturation and routing options make Cunsa a go-to standard for signal processing on a very high level.
Besides that, Cunsa can also be used as a sound source when you feed the filters audio input with trigs and make it ring at high Q settings. For other organic percussive sounds, you can use the Ping circuit which responds to different incoming gates with a selectable decay curve. Or, make the filter resonate with no input and transform it into a quad oscillator!
As you have already noticed at this point, there are endless possibilities for sound design with Cunsa. The great sound and high density of functions definitely justify the price of this module.
