Expressive E - Osmose 61

Expressive E managed to reinvent the most classic of classics — the tried and trusted keyboard we all know for centuries. A bold claim perhaps, but that's what the Osmose offered: a new and interesting way to play your keyboard. Now Expressive E is back with a natural follow-up — the Osmose 61. It extends the original idea across an extra octave, giving two-handed players, pianists, and live performers more range without changing anything of what made the original so compelling.

Press, bend, shake, pluck: the specially designed, gesture-sensitive keybed turns classic keyboard technique into nuanced control — per key. Paired with Haken Audio’s EaganMatrix, you get a huge palette that stays responsive under the fingers: FM, virtual analog, physical modeling, subtractive synthesis, modal filter banks and more. The result is an instrument that sings like strings or winds when you want, or mutates into entirely new worlds with the stretch of your fingers, literally.

Using it is quick and focused; touch it and you will understand — it has this deep, intuitive quality to it which you might not understand until you touch it. It's a new way to play a keyboard after all, but trust us — it will make sense once you do!

The clear display and a handful of well-chosen encoders/faders offer meaningful macros instead of deep menu diving.
