Erica Synths - Pico Voice
- Order number: 170217
- Depth: 35
A versatile synthesizer with a width of just 3 HP – Pico Voice features eight algorithms for generating sound. In detail, the module offers Karplus Strong, Chords, Wavetable, PWM, Supersaw, Wavefold and Harmonic Saturation programs plus an emulation of the TB-303 bassline. Each synthesis mode can be edited via three potentiometers plus a simple menu. For modulating parameters, there is a CV input with alterable routing. 1V per octave and gate inputs are available as well, of course.
In use, the Pico Voice shines with a wide range of clearly digital sounds. Its repertoire ranges from replications of acoustic string instruments to powerful basses and rave pads as well as chords.
Despite its extensive sound spectrum, handling the Pico Voice is easy as pie. Using the module’s three potentiometers, each synthesis algorithm can be tuned (range: C1 to C8) and adjusted in two parameters. Switching between the eight modes of operation is done via a button. Pressing and holding the control element for a few seconds leads the user to a menu. Here, it is possible to link the CV input with one of the parameters mentioned above. Additionally, the menu offers a third synthesis parameter for most modes of operation. A LED visualizes the currently active program.
In detail, the Pico Voice features the following synthesis algorithms and options:
- Karplus Strong:
- Parameter 1: Distortion
- Parameter 2: Noise Burst
- Parameter 3: -
- Chord:
- Parameter 1: Chord Type (Major, minor, several seventh chords, augmented, diminished)
- Parameter 2: Release
- Parameter 3: Waveform (Sine, triangle, saw, square)
- Wavetable:
- Parameter 1: Wave Surf
- Parameter 2: Release
- Parameter 3: One or two notes
- Bassline:
- Parameter 1: Resonance
- Parameter 2: Release
- Parameter 3: Saw or pulse wave
- PWM:
- Parameter 1: PWM
- Parameter 2: Release
- Parameter 3: One, two or three notes
- Supersaw:
- Parameter 1: Detune
- Parameter 2: Release
- Parameter 3: Phase Lock on / off
- Wavefold:
- Parameter 1: Fold
- Parameter 2: Release
- Parameter 3: Waveform (Sine, 2x sine, triangle, 2x triangle)
- Harmonic:
- Parameter 1: Add harmonics
- Parameter 2: Release
- Parameter 3: Waveform
The Pico Voice is played via a 1V per octave and a gate input. The release envelope can be deactivated by turning the corresponding potentiometer completely clockwise. Therefore, the circuit is also usable as an oscillator.
