Erica’s Fusion VCA V2 allows users to flexibly color and distort audio material. The module comes equipped with two inputs plus level potentiometers. Incoming signals are summed up and then fed to the amplifier circuit. The built-in tube is a Russian miniature pentode, type 1Ж24B. Its power consumption is comparable to a LED. Besides manual and CV volume control, the Fusion VCA V2 offers hard and soft drive distortion with adjustable intensity. A feedback potentiometer makes it possible to add harmonics to signals. The Fusion VCA V2 is able to produce comforting and warm as well as hollow and screaming sound.
The Fusion VCA V2 features two independently buffered input channels with level potentiometers, followed by a mix section and the tube amplifier. For controlling the VCA, there is a CV input plus attenuator. Using the bias potentiometer, it is possible to determine a positive or negative offset. Turned completely clockwise, the control element opens the amplifier completely. A feedback knob allows users to re-route portions of the output signal back to the VCA’s input. This feature makes it possible to alter the harmonic content of audio material drastically. Hard drive or soft drive distortion can be activated via a switch. The effects are generated by Germanium diodes and the miniature pentode. The distortion’s intensity is set via the deform potentiometer.
