Eowave Germaniac — Discrete Germanium Saturation Module for the 1U Format
The Eowave Germaniac is a 1U VCA built around carefully selected germanium transistors from the soviet era. Unlike transparent VCAs, this module deliberately adds harmonic content and saturation to whatever passes through it. The Warmth control lets you adjust the amount of distortion from subtle enhancement to heavy coloration. This parameter also comes with it's own CV input.
The module works as both a traditional VCA and a controllable distortion processor. You can use it for standard amplitude control when you want that germanium character, or focus on the saturation aspect for adding analog grit to clean signals. The discrete transistor design gives signals a thick, rich quality that germanium components are known for.
