This device is quite a lightshow, but not only that. Embodme has packed this thing with a myriad of features. It includes a built-in MIDI looper, LCD screen, encoder, quick access buttons, and an arpeggiator that can respond to MPE. All the arpeggiator parameters (rate, octave range, note length, pattern, steps, velocity) can be mapped to expressive gestures (after touch, slide, portamentos).
The Erae II offers connections for CV, USB, and MIDI. It also features 24 (12 dual) configurable analog outputs to be used as CV/Gate, drum triggers, and bipolar modulation CV controls.
The real magic of the Erae II lies in its customizability. In the words of the creators - “the idea of this product is that you should be able to create your own interface”. Using the companion software, you can transform its surface into an MPE keyboard, a set of XY pads, faders, drumpads, keygrids, anything in-between and more! This means it’s sort of a blank canvas able to cover a whole range of controller needs.
