Electrosmith - 2144 LPF
- Order number: 180495
The 2144 LPF is a compact and smooth 4 pole low-pass filter based on a reissue of the SSM2044. This chip was used in the filter section of many legendary poly synths like CMI Fairlight, Kawai SX-240, Korg MonoPoly, Polysix, Octave Cat and PPG Wave 2.2. Its edge steepness is -24 dB per octave. The module features two audio inputs. The cutoff frequency and the resonance can be adjusted manually using the potentiometers, and via control voltage. The Electrosmith 2144 LPF is a small filter with a tight and liquid sounding resonance able to produce fat basses!
The Electrosmith 2144 LPF is a smooth low-pass filter with an edge steepness of -24dB per octave, designed around an SSM2044 chip.
The module provides two audio inputs at the top and an audio output at the bottom.
The Freq potentiometer determines the cutoff frequency of the filter. Thanks to the CV input it can also be adjusted using a control voltage. By adjustement of the V/Oct trimmer at the back of the module, 1 volt per octave tracking can be achieved. This enables you to play the filter tonally like an oscillator, when the resonance is at maximum.
The resonance of the filter can be adjusted manually with the Res knob or using a control voltage thanks to the CV input.
