The M1 has four stereo channels with individual volume and pan controls. As usual, the left input is normalized to the right if you only have a mono signal available. The stereo output of the module has a built-in limiter that can switch between the regular +/- 10V and a "soft-knee-transparent-limiter" with +/- 5V. The latter allows two-fold amplification of your signals allowing you to compress your mix and add artifacts to your sounds.
A useful feature of M1 are the two M-switches. These allow you to convert the channels from one stereo to two mono. So you can turn M1 into a mixer with up to 8 channels. There is a switch for channels 1&2, as well as one for 3&4.
The pan knob then acts as a crossfader for the signals sent into left and right. If only one signal is sent into the channel, it will again be amplified by two.
The M1 was developed by DPW as a clean and reliable mixer unit and is tailor-made for many applications.
