USB/MIDI to clock interface that allows for synchronizing clock-driven modules with the MIDI environment. It processes only the Clock, Start, Stop and Continue MIDI commands
It has several clock divider outputs, each one start, stop and reset outputs for controlling sequencers and also an interesting wait function. Input is either a 5-pin DIN socket or USB.
The A-190-8 features a MIDI input and an USB input but a simultaneous use isn't possible.
There are five clock outputs with different divisions:
- 96: 96 pulses per bar = 24ppq (pulses per quarter note)
- 32: 32 pulses per bar = 8ppq
- 16: 16 pulses per bar = 4ppq
- 1: generates a impulse at the beginning of a new bar
The outputs Start and Stop generate impulses at each MIDI start and MIDI stop command. At a MIDI start command that follows a stop command the reset output will generate an impulse. This is very useful for resetting sequencers like the A-155
The Wait function stops the analogue clock while MIDI clock is running and will re-start it at the beginning of the next bar. This funtion can be activated with the button or a control pulse.
