The Doepfer A-180-6 is a triple buffer and/or CV source.
The principle behind this module is brilliantly simple: you get three inputs for audio or CV (DC-coupled!) and a corresponding output for each. You can then manually attenuate the signal using the pots. Outputs 2 and 3 are normalled to the preceding channels, meaning you can also use the A-180-6 as a distributor for a single signal.
There are solder bridges that allow you to tinker with the module’s guts even if your manual dexterity is somewhat... optional. For one, the gain can be switched from 1 to 2, and for two the normalisation can be modified so that channels 2 and 3 react to the pot settings of their predecessor. Additionally, a jumper allows channel 1 to be normalled to a fixed 5V voltage. Depending on the gain, the module can then act as a voltage source from 0-5V or 0-10V.
The A-180-6 is a clever module that, despite its simplicity, permits a vast range of applications.
Features:
- Buffer with 3 channels
- Normalisation to the lower channels
- Gain of 1 or 2 (solder bridge)
- Jumper for normalisation to 5V DC
- DC-coupled
