High-Precision Analog Frequency Shifter with Ring Modulator Mode.
The Cwejman FSH-1 is a studio-quality voltage-controlled frequency shifter that precisely shifts audio signals up or down. Thanks to its sophisticated analog design, it operates with exceptional clarity and enables characterful effects ranging from subtle modulations to radical sound transformations.
In frequency shifter mode, the audio and carrier signals are each split into two signal paths that are 90° out of phase with each other. Two ring modulators process these signals, generating separate UP and DOWN outputs. In this process, the frequency of the carrier signal is added to or subtracted from the individual frequency components of the audio signal. Unlike a pitch shifter, the spectrum is not proportionally stretched or compressed, but rather shifted by a fixed frequency amount. The carrier can be controlled via COARSE, FINE, and CV and operates both within the audio range and below it.
Additionally, the FSH-1 can be used as a dual ring modulator. This produces metallic, inharmonic timbres, bell and percussion sounds, sweeps, or tremolo and stereo panning effects. All of this in Cwejman quality—with a very high-quality and precise sound.
