Black Noise Modular Ether — Compact Analog Stereo Output Module with Balanced Line Outs and Headphone Amplifier
A compact, fully analog stereo output module that brings hot Eurorack signals down to clean line level, with balanced outputs and a dedicated headphone amp — the tidy way to get your patch into a mixer, interface or speakers.
Where many premium output modules rely on transformers, Black Noise revisited a French military radio circuit built around a 1972 op-amp, adapting its carefully tuned design for modern, reliable op-amps. According to Black Noise, the result has some of the lowest noise and distortion levels in Eurorack, with over 120 dB SNR and 0.03 % THD+N. The focus is on signal integrity rather than colour, with thoughtful details like left-to-right normalling for mono sources, input-level LEDs and a headphone output that doubles as a second stereo line out. Simple stuff, done properly.
Features:
- Fully analog, transformerless stereo output module
- Converts Eurorack levels to line level for mixers, interfaces, speakers and pedals
- L/R inputs, left normalled to right for mono sources
- 2 × balanced 6.35 mm TRS line outputs
- 6.35 mm stereo headphone output, also usable as an extra stereo line out
- Independent main and headphone level controls
- 2 LEDs for input level monitoring
- SNR: >120 dB
- THD+N: 0.03 %
- Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz
- Max. output level: +10 dBu
- Skiff friendly (33 mm)!
