Drones all the way! Oneiroi is an independent synthesizer in Eurorack format from Befaco, consisting of a unique combination of functions.
The truly special composition of the individual functions makes Oneiroi a master of drones, spheres and textures. Of course, there is so much more possible, because we are talking about Eurorack!
Oneiroi is completely digital and provides some great building blocks to create sounds from scratch. There is a sine, supersaw and wavetable oscillator for sound generation. It is also possible to feed external stereo signals through the module and record sounds on the internal looper. This looper is a refreshing sight (and essential tool) and lets you record, modify and play back external sounds or sounds generated in the module. There is a separate VCA for each of these audio sources, with Supersaw and Wavetable sharing a VCA.
The second half of the module is all about shaping and refining the generated sounds. This section contains 4 effects. There is a filter, a resonator, a delay and a reverb. The selected effects all have a few special features that make up the sound of Oneiroi. The module also has a few modulations built in, which can bring gentle or very intense movements to your sounds.
Oneiroi is fantastic for creating distinctive soundscapes. It can create an entire ambient piece or provide a wonderful background for a techno track. However, it is also very interesting for beginners who are looking for a way into the world of the Eurorack and are not simply after a classic mono synth!
