16 input stereo spectral mixer with resonant filter and fixed point in panorama per channel.
Jumble Henge was created in collaboration between ALM Busy Curcuits and Worng Electronics. The circuit is based on Worng Electronis SoundStage module. The vertical and horizontal patch positions determine the spectral and stereo positions of a source in the mix, respectively, and the mix control determines how much the filters are applied to the input signal. Aside from the centered inputs, each input is in its own unique pan position, which helps maintain separation between sounds but combine to create a complete stereo image. Equal-power panning is used to achieve consistent volume perception for all input channels. The center-right inputs of the top two rows are normalized to the center-left inputs. - Thus, if only one left input is patched, it is effectively panned to the center. Towards the highs, the panning becomes wider - as the human ear can better determine direction at higher frequencies, while the lows remain more centered for a tighter, more focused sound. Another stereo input, which can be mixed to the sum unfiltered and without panning, is located directly above the stereo output pair.
