After Later Audio – Cascades
- Order number: 220485
The After Later Audio Cascades is arguably the most feature-rich oscillator from the Seattle-based company.
As the main oscillator of the COCO system (description below), the Cascades provides some remarkable features not found everywhere: Thru-zero oscillator with an octave switch, voltage controlled waveshaping (via Morph), amplitude modulation and a wide range of waveform outputs. A notable feature is the COS output which is great for stereo effects. Best suited as the main oscillator but can also be used with either oscillator at any point in the overall system.
Note: The SSI2130 chip used in Cascades may lock up at startup if the power rails are applied asymmetrically. In this case, the LFO/VCO switch must be flipped to unblock it.
The COCO system is intended to provide the deep sound-shaping benefits of a complex oscillator, while compensating for certain drawbacks such as lack of flexibility. Within the COCO series, oscillator functions and control modules can be selected and combined to form a complex oscillator, but remain usable standalone if needed.
Features:
- Thru Zero FM
- Morph output with CV control to morph between triangle, sawtooth and pulse
Octave switch for simplified tuning - VCO and LFO ranges
- Cosine output (tuned for VCO range, LFO range in preparation) for fun in stereo and in conjunction with the SUM+INV module
- Built-in amplitude modulation with either offset or full wave rectification of the modulating waveform
- Modwave output switchable between Morph Out and SIN (jumper on rear panel)

Cascades @After Later Audio
After Later Audio are Lenny and Clarissa from Seattle. They build clones of popular Eurorack modules but also have a much more extensive repertoire of self-designed modules for Eurorack systems.
