After Later Audio - Alan 1U
- Order number: 220588
The Alan 1U from After Later Audio is a small version of the Turing Machine, i.e. a Shift Register, in a convenient 1U format.
Alan is a scaled-down version of Tom Whitwell's Turing Machine: Alan has all the features of the classic version and offers connectivity for all known Turing Machine expanders.
Alan is a shift register-based sequencer that is not programmed by step but generates random sequences by itself which can be frozen and looped and then mutated again by step. The concept is inspired by the Minimal Music movement around Steve Reich, Philipp Glass, etc. Through the expanders, Alan can be used as a centerpiece for random sequences for melodies as well as drum arrangements and can be synchronized with other sequencers.
