ADDAC128M Microtonal Frets — Individually Adjustable Frets for the ADDAC120 Four Strings Series
The ADDAC128M lets you set individual fret positions for each of the four strings in ADDAC's Four Strings System. Unlike a conventional fret spanning all four strings, its separate frets can be placed independently in grooves spaced at 2 mm intervals. This opens the door to microtonal tunings, unusual intervals and other pitch relationships that wouldn't be possible with a fixed fretboard.
You can use several modules along the strings to create additional playable notes. Two screws adjust the overall height, helping to prevent unwanted string buzz. A tuner is recommended for setting the individual fret positions, and ADDAC provides labeling stickers to keep track of your chosen arrangement.
Features:
- Microtonal fret module for the ADDAC120 Four Strings Series
- Four independently positionable frets
- Positioning grooves spaced at 2 mm intervals
- Adjustable overall height via two screws
- Multiple modules can be combined for additional notes
- Passive mechanical design
- Position-label stickers included
About the ADDAC 120-Series
The 120-Series brings real vibrating strings into Eurorack, crossing the worlds of modular synthesis and electro-acoustic instruments. Its four strings form a customizable instrument somewhere between a lap steel guitar, a zither and an automated string machine. The headstock and bridge form the foundation, while additional modules capture the sound, mechanically pluck or mute the strings, excite them magnetically, add frets or even turn the strings into a physical audio resonator. Combined with Eurorack sequencing, CV and effects, you can build anything from a manually played instrument to a fully automated string setup.
