ADDAC122 Quadraphonic Pickup — Four Independent String Pickups for the ADDAC120 Four Strings Series
The ADDAC122 is a four-channel pickup module designed for ADDAC's Four Strings System. Instead of capturing all four strings through a single pickup, it gives each string its own pickup, preamplifier, volume control and audio output. This opens up some lovely patching possibilities — send each string through a different filter, apply individual effects or distribute them across a multichannel setup.
A summed mono output is also available for capturing all four strings together. ADDAC hand-winds the pickup coils using a stacked humbucker construction with Alnico 5 magnets, while the integrated preamplifiers bring the signals up to modular level. The pickup height can also be adjusted. A clever way of giving a physical string instrument the independent signal access we're used to in modular synthesis.
Features:
- Four-channel pickup for the ADDAC120 Four Strings Series
- Individual pickup, preamplifier and volume control per string
- Four independent modular-level audio outputs
- Summed mono output, post-volume controls
- Hand-wound stacked humbucker coils with Alnico 5 magnets
- Adjustable pickup height
- Independent processing of all four strings
About the ADDAC 120-Series
The 120-Series brings real vibrating strings into Eurorack, crossing the worlds of modular synthesis and electro-acoustic instruments. Its four strings form a customizable instrument somewhere between a lap steel guitar, a zither and an automated string machine. The headstock and bridge form the foundation, while additional modules capture the sound, mechanically pluck or mute the strings, excite them magnetically, add frets or even turn the strings into a physical audio resonator. Combined with Eurorack sequencing, CV and effects, you can build anything from a manually played instrument to a fully automated string setup.
