Navigate and seize control of your signals with Video Grip from Videoheadroom Systems.
The Video Grip module is a tool designed for hands-on control in video synthesis. It features a joystick that allows for precise modulation and control over video signals. The joystick can be used to manipulate the position and blend of video outputs, providing a tactile interface for real-time adjustments, useful for instance in any sort of live settings.
One of the standout features is the 4 Quadrant Video Rate Mixer, which lets users switch between a center zero volt position on the joystick and a center mix for the SUM output. This functionality enables complex video signal mixing, allowing for seamless transitions and effects that respond intuitively to the joystick’s movements. Additionally, the Quad Video Rate Panner offers the ability to cycle inputs by patching quadrature or phase offset waveforms into the XY inputs.
Some tips: You can connect luma video, ramps, oscillators, or wave-processed signals to the four input channels. For example, use a Visual Cortex (from LZX Industries) to provide luma and ramp signals. Route the sum output to various destinations, such as the Visual Cortex composite input for further processing or directly to a display. Experiment with sending oscillators and ramps through different modules before routing to Video Grip, and use the joystick to blend and manipulate the input signals dynamically.
Video Grip includes several upgrades the previous Brownshoesonly Video Grip module. By the way, for the uninitiated — "Brownshoesonly" has now evolved into "Videoheadroom Systems," but the DNA remains intact. It’s a same person different name kind of deal. This new Video Grip module offers an improved joystick and Gen3 power enhancements. These tweaks aren’t just cosmetic—they deliver smoother operation and a solid performance, turning this module into a veritable Swiss Army knife for your visual toolkit - great for anyone serious about their video art!
