Soma - Terra
- Order number: 230379
Soma Terra is organic, natural and fully digital! A synthesis aesthete worthy to continue the tradition of Enner and Lyra-8.
Terra wants to be a refuge for the natural soul in the midst of a hectic, restless world that sometimes seems over-artificial. A device that lets you take root on a ground that offers the opportunity to breathe in and out slowly. At the same time, nature and technology, man and machine are not meant to be a contradiction, but rather to expand one's mind and feelings in order to perceive their connection more intensely again in the midst of omnipresent technical progress. For this reason, it is not a contradiction that this multifaceted, polyphonic and microtonal synthesizer has a digital interior and yet works with natural forms and materials and has a unique, minimalist interface. A variety of touch and motion sensors house a novel, interactive world of sounds waiting to be discovered.
Terra's keyboard consists of 12 note sensors, as well as four sensors for pitch shifting and transposition. Due to their combinability, the complete tonal range of a grand piano is made available. The way it works is similar to the sound generation of wind and brass instruments which can produce a variety of tones by using keys and valves.Intuitive movements of the hands and body can be used to easily create a variety of modulations using the three-axis motion sensor. 32 complex synthesis algorithms each represent a musical instrument that can be played in its own individual way. The focus of the musician should be diverted away from a flood of parameters towards music and intimate interaction and meditation through sounds.
Imagination and inspiration are triggered via the best of both worlds: the tactile connection of acoustic instruments and the flexibility and versatility of synthesizers. 96 preset slots allow you to capture sounds and states that can be further refined by the internal effects processor. A perfect instrument for explorative sound researchers and sound performers to go on fruitful journeys of discovery.

Manual
Soma is Vlad Kreimer's "romantic engineering" endeavour into musical instrument design. While the Lyra-8 organismic synthesizer and the Ether wide-band receiver have already gained a bunch of adherents, the Pulsar-23 has created an unprecedented expectation.
