Serge Modular - Paperface 50 Tempo di Roma Sequencer Panel

- Order number: 230641
A 50-year-old system for presets in modular synthesizers? The Paperface Tempo di Roma Sequencer Panel from Serge Modular!
The Tempo di Roma panel returns for Serge's 50th birthday. Same device, but new components for reliable sequencing and programming. The Paperface panels impress with a simple design that avoids unnecessary gimmicks. They use old-fashioned principles that are still very much up to date today. Take a look at the Make Noise Pressure Points, which adopts precisely this approach and is at home in many Eurorack systems.
Tempo di Roma consists of two similar parts: Two so-called programmers, which are augmented by various building blocks. There is a very precise clock source (metronome) and the classic gate sequencer.
The programmers are very interesting components, as their actual use is not just CV sequences. The programmers were designed as a kind of preset memory, which can swap between 4 predefined parameter settings at the touch of a button. So you get 3 parameter settings per preset, which you can then send to a Helios or Paris Flash panel. Of course, it is also fine if you use the programmer as a sequencer, as the name suggests that it is also a suitable use.
However, Tempo di Roma also has a few other functions that will quickly turn your monotonous sequences into exciting new modulations. There is the router section, which contains 3 switches. This allows you to recombine two sequences by switching back and forth between them using voltage control. The lower of the three routers works slightly differently to the upper two in that it remains switched on when a trigger comes in and only switches back again when the next trigger comes in. This is called flip-flop.
Finally, there is the Peak and Trough section, which provides you with two logics. Peak is a max logic and functions like a Boolean OR, Through is a min logic and functions like a Boolean AND. Combine different triggers, sequences or audio signals to create something new.
Tempo di Roma is a powerful control unit for the Paperface panels and invites you to go on exploratory tours!
This Paperface panel comes installed in a boat housing. The matching power supply unit must be acquired separately.
