Music Thing Modular - 16MB Blank Program Cards (x2 Pack)

These look like microSD cards, but they’re not — these are purpose-built, flash-image program cards for the Music Thing Modular Workshop Computer. Pop one in and your module becomes whatever’s on the card: a sequencer today, a utility tomorrow, an ambient rain generator for the rest of the week. The 16MB capacity gives room for programs that outgrow the classic 2MB cards, so you can run the ambitious, the multi-sampled, and the “why not?” experiments without trimming ideas to fit.

Workflow is gloriously low-friction: connect the Workshop Computer via USB, drag a file, eject, make sounds. Because each card holds the entire RP2040 flash image, the module itself stays firmware-less — swap cards to swap personalities. Coders can go about it on their own using C/C++ (Pico SDK), Arduino Pico, CircuitPython, or anything that would run on the RP2040 microcontroller. Non-coders can feast on a growing ecosystem of community creations.

Case in point: Backyard Rain — a cozy nature soundscape that crossfades between field recordings; turn the big knob to set the downpour. Instant weather control, no umbrella required, (needs the 16MB card version to run however).

Features:

• Two blank 16MB cards for the Workshop Computer (Workshop System)
• Not microSD: Proprietary, flash-image program cards designed specifically for Music Thing Modular Workshop
• Run bigger programs: For apps that won’t fit on 2MB cards (multi-sampled, feature-heavy, experimental, or your own with ample room to sketch).
• Hot-swappable personalities: Each card stores the full RP2040 image—swap cards to change the module’s function
• Easy updates: Drag-and-drop programming over USB; reflash, iterate, repeat
• Dev-friendly: Create software with Pico SDK (C/C++), Arduino Pico, CircuitPython, and more
• Community ecosystem: Ongoing releases, guides, and newsletters—load, learn, and share
• Example app: Backyard Rain—a knob-controlled rain ambience that blends multiple natural recordings (needs this 16MB version to run)
