Mad Sound Factory - Drop

The Mad Sound Factory DROP operates on a simple premise: use an LFO as your clock source, add some dividers, patch everything with banana cables, and let analog randomness create rhythmic patterns that never quite repeat the same way twice. Six unique analog noise oscillators join forces with a classic bass drum generator, all feeding into two wide-range LFOs that can push into audio rates for wilder results.

The banana socket patching system encourages experimentation in ways that standard 3.5mm jacks don't. You can patch the cables the usual way, or you can touch the sockets with patch cables for temporary connections, or even use your fingers as part of the circuit. If this philosophy sounds familiar in a SOMA-esque way, it's worth noting that Mad Sound Factory has previously developed expansion tools for some of SOMA's devices – the inspired DNA is clear.

USB-C power means it can run from an external power bank or even your phone charger, and its compact size makes it very portable. If you have ever dreamt of a chaos-noise-box-device for a sunny day in the park—problem solved.
