L-1 Nuvistor VCA — Nuvistor VCA with Drive, Saturation and Feedback
The Nuvistor VCA is an analogue VCA built around vintage Soviet 6C51H-B nuvistors. These miniature vacuum tubes give the circuit a distinctly coloured response, ranging from relatively gentle amplification to strong saturation and distortion.
Two audio inputs are provided, with the second normalled as a feedback path when left unpatched. Drive, Gain and Clean/Distortion modes make it possible to use the module as anything from a coloured VCA to a much more aggressive distortion and waveshaping stage.
